The Fitting Room FAQ

Is The Fitting Room affiliated with LinkedIn?

No. The Fitting Room is independent. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by LinkedIn. LinkedIn® is a registered trademark of LinkedIn Corporation. The Fitting Room uses LinkedIn’s name only to describe what it works on: your own LinkedIn profile.

How much does The Fitting Room cost?

The Fit Check is free: your score and the fixes that matter most. The Full Report is $39, a one-time price with no subscription, and it includes everything in the Fit Check plus the fixes written for you.

Will The Fitting Room get me a job or interviews?

No one can promise that, and The Fitting Room doesn’t. What The Fitting Room does is check your profile for free against a public 100-point checklist and, with the Full Report, rewrite it from your real experience. Hiring decisions are always the employer’s.

Does The Fitting Room apply to jobs or use bots on my LinkedIn?

No. The Fitting Room never auto-applies to jobs, never runs scripts or extensions on your LinkedIn account, and never logs in or contacts anyone as you. You make every change to your profile yourself. The how-it-works page explains what you do and what The Fitting Room does.

How The Fitting Room works, step by step

Do I need my LinkedIn password for the free Fit Check?

No. The free Fit Check never asks you to sign in to LinkedIn or for your LinkedIn password: you upload your own profile PDF or paste the text, and it runs in your browser. It doesn’t ask for your profile’s web address either.

I already have LinkedIn Premium: do I need The Fitting Room?

Keep Premium if it helps you; The Fitting Room works with or without it. LinkedIn describes Premium Career as tools such as LinkedIn InMail credits and a list of who viewed your profile. The Fitting Room checks your profile against a public 100-point checklist and rewrites it from your real experience.

What does The Fitting Room’s 100-point score check?

Your % optimized comes from the Fit Formula: 70 points for factors cited from LinkedIn’s own Help, Talent Blog and Engineering pages, 25 points for patterns The Fitting Room has observed, and 5 points of opinion. Every item and its points are public. LinkedIn doesn’t publish how it ranks profiles, so how many points each item is worth is The Fitting Room’s own judgment.

Can I use The Fitting Room while I still have a job?

Yes. If your profile shows a current job, the free Fit Check scores you for a quiet search by default: Open to Work earns its points only when it’s set to Recruiters only, and job-hunt words in your headline or About get flagged. LinkedIn says it can’t guarantee complete privacy, so no setting can promise your employer won’t find out.

How do I start?

Start the free Fit Check and bring in your current look: upload your LinkedIn profile as a PDF or paste its text, pick one goal, and type the role you want next. In about a minute you’ll see how it fits: your score and the fixes that matter most. You don’t pay anything to see your results.
